Why Do I Need a Survey?
Purchasing a property is
a major financial
commitment for most people and the best way to arrive at an informed decision
on whether or not to proceed is to
commission an independent report on the building, by a Chartered
Structural Engineer or Chartered Building Surveyor.
It is
important to ensure that the inspection will be undertaken by a
suitably experienced and qualified professional. If the report is
required as a condition of mortgage advance, a professional qualification is often
stipulated.
A Structural
Engineers Report or Building Survey may reveal problems the
purchaser or vendor were unaware of. Any significant defects
identified may require considerable immediate or future expenditure,
or give rise to problems in reselling or insuring the property.
All Structural
Engineers Reports and Building Surveys provide clear recommendations
and guidance towards remedying any defects identified, including the
need for further investigations and/or additional specialist input.
